THE MEDICAL ACTIVITY IS FINDING ITS RHYTHM
At Phaplu Maternity Hospital, nowadays medical and surgical activities can take place in excellent conditions. Thus, for example, doctors on average undertake one cesarian per week.
The small new intensive care unit for newborns, supplied by our Mobile Hospital, fits in perfectly. Recently, it enabled a premature baby born in the 7th month of pregnancy, to stay alive.
Elsewhere small improvement works immediately around the hospital have been carried out, thereby facilitating access and movement within.
Our autumn season of surgical camps is approaching. Three ‘camps’ are planned under the programme: the first in Salyan district in the West, followed by two in the East: Phiddim where we return for the fourth time, and Sankhuwasaba for the second time.
Your help remains indispensable even though we have made progress in our contacts with the Ministry of Health; they recognised our activities are efficient but to date remain unsubsidised.
