NEWS FROM PHAPLU
After the inauguration of the Phaplu Maternity Centre on 14 April 2018, the team of doctors, nurses and local medical personnel gradually moved into the new hospital buildings. -
INAUGURATION OF THE PHAPLU MATERNITY CENTRE
The inauguration of the Phaplu Maternity Centre took place on 14 April 2018. The last two months before the inauguration have been very hectic, all the trades being under heavy pressure to finish their work on time. Personally, I supported them by working alongside them every day until dawn!

NOVEMBER 2017 – NEARING THE END – TWO AND A HALF YEARS AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE!
The reconstruction works on the Paphlu Maternity Centre in Paphlu are nearing the end. -

The electricians, plumbers and tilers are on the spot. -
MARCH 2017 – THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR WALLS ARE PRACTICALLY ALL FINISHED!
Following the spring camps of the Nepal Mountain Mobile Hospital, we left for Phaplu to take stock of the ongoing reconstruction work on the Maternity Centre. -
DECEMBER 2016 – THE CONCRETE STRUCTURE IS FINALIZED
We also witnessed the pouring of the concrete slab on the first floor. -
NOVEMBER 2016 – THE CONSTRUCTION IS WELL UNDERWAY !
This time, the progress with construction is clearly visible. -
SEPTEMBER 2016 – CONSTRUCTION WORKS STARTED AGAIN
Construction works at the Maternity Centre in Phaplu started again three weeks ago, having been delayed by the monsoon. -
JULY 2016 – STOP WORK
The monsoon is in full swing, and in an unusual way the rain is much heavier than normal this time round in the Solukhumbu. -
JUNE 2016 – THE BUILDING EMERGES
It is true that the foundations having taken a bit of time, but the slope of the land did not help, as a solid sub-soil had to be found. -
FIRST CONCRETE IS POURED…
