Our year 2023
During 2023 we have pursued our program of training nurses working at health centres in remote regions in the use of ultrasounds with a view to detecting pregnancies at risk and thus diminish mortality of the infant and of mothers in labour.

JANUARY 2023
After two difficult years due to the coronavirus pandemic, and depite a timid beginning for our activities at the end of 2021, we wre able to begin our activitis again fully in 2022.

SEPTEMBER 2022
Autumn has come round again and we are getting ready again to go to Nepal for new camps and other activities. Although we had no surgery camps last spring that does not mean that the NMMH was inactive.

NEPAL AND THE CORONAVIRUS

END OF YEAR 2019
2019 ends on a campaign of three surgical camps in the districts of Salyan, Panchhatar (Phiddim) and Bhojpur.

THE MEDICAL ACTIVITY IS FINDING ITS RHYTHM
At Phaplu Maternity Hospital, nowadays medical and surgical activities can take place in excellent conditions. Thus, for example, doctors on average undertake one cesarian per week.

THE SPRING SEASON 2019
The spring season is already coming to an end. It started a bit earlier this year. -

In November, we went again to Bahjang district in the West of Nepal. -
INAUGURATION OF THE PHAPLU MATERNITY CENTRE
The inauguration of the Phaplu Maternity Centre took place on 14 April 2018. The last two months before the inauguration have been very hectic, all the trades being under heavy pressure to finish their work on time. Personally, I supported them by working alongside them every day until dawn!

Our autumn season came to an end as Christmas approached. For various reasons, we managed just one camp. -
OUR SPRING SEASON 2017
The spring season of the mobile hospital took place in the district of Gorkha in the West of Nepal. -
NOVEMBER 2016 – CAMPS IN THE FAR WEST OF NEPAL
In the autumn we left for the West of Nepal, in particular the districts of Bahjang and Dadeldhura. -
JULY 2016 – CAMP IN PANCHHATAR (THE EAST OF NEPAL)
In the course of a short three week trip in the middle of the monsoon to sort out certain problems connected with the Maternity Center in Phaplu we were able to conduct a surgical camp in Panchhatar, to the East of Nepal. -
OUR 2016 SPRING SEASON OF THE MOBILE
Our 2016 spring season of the mobile camp took place in Rolpa to the West of Kathmandu. -
8 DECEMBER 2015 – CAMP AT GHAMGADI
For the first camp of this autumn season we decided to return to the district of Mugu, which is one of the poorest in Nepal. -
20 NOVEMBER 2015 – NEPAL HAS ENTERED A NEW CRISIS
Since the signature of a new constitution (September) and the nomination of a new government (October), Nepal has entered a new crisis, economic this time, as if the country did not have enough on its plate in the regions badly hit by the earthquake… -

5 JUNE 2015 – BACK FROM PHAPLU (SOLUKHUMBU)
We got back from Phaplu (Solukhumbu) on 4 June. The final stay in Phaplu allowed us to install a large hospitalisation tent. -
28 MAY 2015 – BACK FROM POKALI (OKHALDUNGA)
The whole team from Nepal Mountain Hospital came back to Kathmandu yesterday. Once again, the camp allowed an impressive number of people to have consultations. -

MAY 18, 2015 – THE POPULATION IS HOPING TO EMERGE AT LAST FROM THE AFTERSHOCKS
The day before yesterday, another one at 5.7 on the Richter scale struck. Since 25 April they have not stopped. The whole population of those regions affected by the earthquake are sleeping in the open, away from buildings. You can see fear on their faces. -
12 MAY 2015 – THE EARTH HAS SHAKEN AGAIN IN NEPAL
Today, like every day since 25 April, the earth has shaken again in Nepal, but this time 7.4 on the Richter scale. -

Nepal Mountain Mobile Hospital has decided to go to the most remote districts as soon as conditions permit with, as in normal times, the permission of the authorities, particularly the Ministry of Healh. -
26 AVRIL 2015 – SÉISME AU NÉPAL
Un terrible tremblement de terre d’une magnitude de 7,8 sur l’échelle de Richter s’est produit au Népal ce 25 avril. Les médias nous montrent l’ampleur des dégâts et la liste des morts ne fait que s’allonger. On ne parle toujours pas sur ces médias des régions les plus reculées du Népal car les moyens de communication ne fonctionnent plus ou mal.

24 APRIL 2015 – LAST CAMPS
I got back from Nepal 2 days ago. This season , spring 2015, we have managed to hold 3 orthopaedic surgery camps. these took place between 15 March and 19 April. This year, the Nepali Spring saw unusually changeable weather. Rain and storms have been much more fréquent this ear. The température is below the seasonal average and the snow linee is below 4000 meters. -
